Dr. Juan Carlos García Pagán is a Senior medical consultant in Hepatology and the head of the Hepatic Hemodynamic Unit at the Hospital Clinic, principal investigator of the "Institut D' Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer” (IDIBAPS) and deputy director of research in IDIBAPS and Hospital Clínic.
He has focused his professional career on Portal Hypertension in cirrhosis management. Above all, on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of vascular diseases of the liver. Also, he has founded the European VALDIG consortium, has coordinated the national network REHEVASC and has contributed to the Hospital Clinic being the ERN-RARE Liver European reference centre.
