Dr. Yogesh Chawla has 40 Years in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, out of which 22 Years as Head of Department of Hepatology in PGI, Chandigarh an Institute of National Importance. Developed the Department separate from Gastroenterology into the country’s best liver department. He developed expertise in Portal Hypertension including Portal venous obstruction, Budd- Chiari syndrome, Cirrhosis, Hepatitis B and C, and Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. Developed the first liver ICU in the country in a government set up and started Liver Transplantation in PGI and D.M Hepatology program first time in the country.
