Main Fields of scientific Interest: Gastroenterology and Hepatology: acute liver failure (ALF), treatment of viral hepatitis, non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), management of main complications of cirrhosis (acute kidney injury, hepatorenal syndrome, variceal bleeding, hepatic encephalopathy, bacterial infections), acute on chronic liver failure (ACLF), diagnosis and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Transplant Medicine: in particular the definition of priority in the waiting list and complications of liver transplantation.Experimental and molecular Hepatology: in particular development and study of experimental model of decompensated liver cirrhosis and/or portal hypertension, development of new biomarkers of fibrosis and HCC.
